The Merlin reverse osmosis is popualr with car detailers, aquarium hobbyists, and other light commercial user where they need to make a steady quantity of water. The Merlin will perform poorly in applications where only one glass of water at a time is drawn at each interval. This is due to the water pressure equalizing across the membranes when the system is not in use. The water in the membranes will flush a close to tap water quality. After several quarts of water have flushed the TDS will come down and the water purity will go up.
