Separator Details
A. Inlet & outlet shall be male, NPT, size: 1-1/2
B. Purge outlet shall be male, NPT, size: 3/4
C. The separator shall operate withina flow range of: 45-70 gpm
D. Pressure loss shall be between5-12 psi (0.3 - 0.8 bar), consistentwith the above flow range.
E. Max Pressure Rating: 150psi(10.3 bar)
F. Max Particle Size: 3/8 (9.25mm)
G. Collection Chamber Capacity: 0.3 U.S.gal (1.2 liters)

Separator Type & Performance
The removal of specific unwanted solidsfrom a pumped/pressurized liquid systemshall be accomplished with acentrifugal-action vortex separator. Solidsremoval efficiency is principallypredicated on the difference in specificgravity between the solids and the liquid.Performance is expected to be 98%removal of 74 microns and larger, withsignificant particle removal of finerparticles also likely.

Performance Requirement
Separator performance must be supportedby published independent test resultsfrom a recognized and identified testagency. Standard test protocol ofupstream injection, downstream captureand separator purge recovery is allowedwith 50-200 mesh particles to enableeffective, repeatable results. Single-passtest performance must not be less than95% removal. Model tested must be of thesame flow-design series as specified unit.

Separator Design & Function
A tangential inlet and mutually tangentialinternal accelerating slots shall beemployed to promote the proper velocitynecessary for the removal of theseparable solids. The separator s internalvortex shall allow this process to occurwithout wear to the accelerating slots.
Separated particle matter shall spiraldownward along the perimeter of theinner separation barrel, in a manner thatdoes not promote wear of the separationbarrel, and into the solids collectionchamber, located below the vortexdeflector stool.
System liquid shall exit the separatorby following the center vortex in theseparation barrel and spiral upward tothe separator outlet.
