Low pressure amalgam (LP-AM) coated UV lamps for maximum power density and consistent UV output throughout rated lamp life of 12,000 hours. 
Amalgam lamps run hotter than standard lamps but are more energy efficient, more of the lamp output is focused in the 254 nm range that provides disinfection.
